Gauges disappear with panel lighting

I tried to modify the panel of the Maule M7 by importing gauges from the Cessna 208, and other planes. However, when I turn on panel lighting, the imported gauges disappear! I suspect I've overlooked something simple. What did I do forget? (I'm a newcomer--I have not yet graduated to XML, BGL, or the SDK). SWA Guy
