Spool up time on jet engines - how to change

Featured Replies

What parameter can be edited to reduce spool up time on the jet engines? Is that a function of the inertia settings for the fan and turbine? I messed with them a little in the .air file, but it seemed to really increase power if they are reeduced???Is there a more direct way to set that? Thanks,Ryan

1505 table in air filethis is function from CN1

It adjusts the gain of the fuel flow controller, which affects how fast the turbine spools up. However, TBL 1505 in the AIR file, which sets Corrected Fuel Flow, also affects the spool rate. Modifying it can make the top end not slow down so fast in getting from 90% to 100%.Ron
