GMAX: opposite of splitting a mesh?

Featured Replies

Hi allI'm a long time FSDS user, and this weekend I deceided to take the plunge and go to GMAX. SO far I'm pretty impressed. One thing I'm stuck on: In fsds, you could, in corss-section mode, add and delete cross-sections from a part easily. In GMAX, I've found that with the splitting plane you can add more vertices to a mesh, but I haven't found the corresponding feature for deleting vertices from a mesh (deleting the vertices kills the associated polys too, which is no good).Any hints?

hello, there this tool called weld and weld selected.I don't have time to explain now but I will do when I come back :)Just a tip: Always slice in editable poly mode. :)

yes , sorry.. was talking about target weld.. ;)to use target weld, first check if you are editable mesh or poly.if in editable mesh..click the vertex you want to weld and drag it to the vertex you want it to be welded on.if in editable poly..click on the vertex you want to weld then click on the other vertex.

Thanks! I'll give that a go as soon as I get back to my machine.
