January 30, 200620 yr I hope this isn't a dumb question, but can anyone help me with the heirarchy of parts needed to get telescoping hydraulic actuator struts (used to pull the landing gear in during retraction) to work, so that the two parts telescope together accurately?I've tried using key animation, but although the parts start and end at the correct locations, during the retraction they get out of line.I've scoured the web and this forum, but no luck.Mike F.
January 31, 200620 yr Sometimes you have to add intermediate keyframes for the more detailed animations - not just the "start" and "stop" positions.I would suggest to animate several intermediate key frames on the actuator strut first, and then animate the "follower" strut to match.IT's almost a trial and error thing, but key frame animation is no different in concept than cell animation... except that you don't have to draw each freakin' cell - almost.
