Why waste fuel on a ferry flight?? Check this out!

Wow. Ians photo is the kinda thing that can kill a passenger. I recall an incident where the entire system failed. swed right through the compartmant intantly killing a woman and her child. Its crap like that that makes me uncofortable sitting right in line with the engines.Pete

Actually, most airlines worldwide have procedures, and pilots (usually maintenance test pilots) trained, for engine out ferry flights. Obviously, these are only done with 3 or 4 engine airplanes! I seriously doubt, however, that securing (?) an engine like that is part of any procedure on my airline, or any US airline for that matter.

Wow! Went away for a few days and was surprised to see this post still on the first page :-). I don't know for sure that passengers were carried on the flight. The text doesn't necessarily imply that - only that it was "revenue-generating". I'm impressed the seatbelts held up as well as they did! Good pics, Ian!David
