I beg to differ Paul, if this were the mystery GPU being talked about so much I think there would be a bigger deal being made about it right now. I think there's a bit of speculation on the part of THG about the whole "2 weeks" thing. Anandtech said "As unexpected as 3DLabs' announcement was (we weren't anticipating it for another few weeks) it's just the first in a line of new technologies in the graphics sector." in their article and I tend to put a bit more faith in Anand than Tom, but that's just my NSHO. Take careful notice of the "just the first..." part :) I think we may just have to declare the bet still on!Edit: one more thing, the article over at Anandtech was written by Anand himself, whereas the article at THG was written by one of Tom's lackeys ;)Max Cowgill

Come on now Paul, that "mid-May" reference is only from one source. Other sources place it at the end of May, leading me to believe it's something else that was to take place in mid-May. Parhelia, to the best of my knowledge, was planned to be announced in mid-May, so I still say it's Parhelia. It's common knowledge that 3DLabs had a new GPU (or as they call it VPU) coming out since their acquisition by Creative, but the Matrox/Parhelia thing is less-widespread. Guess we'll just have to wait and see until all the players have been announced this month. Who knows, maybe Matrox/Trident/ATI/Nvidia will step up their announcements now that SiS and 3DLabs have made theirs.Max Cowgill
