Transparent Textures in FS2004 Problem Part 2

Featured Replies

I've been having problems with transparent textures in FS2004 (see previous messages.) But after playing around with more scenery files, I think I (we) are chasing the wrong problem.I just copied a scenery file from FS2002 to FS2004. When I loaded it up, it looked perfect. But then, I switched views and all transparent textures disappeared! After alot of experimenting, I have found the following:If I load FS2004 and start at a location other than the test scenery, then GOTO the test scenery, all textures look fine. See below.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29263.jpgIf I then simply switch views, transparent textures disappear! See below.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29264.jpgSwitching back to the original view does not bring back the textures. See below.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29265.jpgGOTO'ing a different location and then returning to the test scenery does not restore the textures. The only way to get them back is to go to step one above. But they DO come back - without any texture file changes at all.I thought I had noticed this before when I first had the texture problem (Didn't I see that texture when I first looked at it??) but then got hung up in tring to fix the texture file instead of looking at what FS2004 was doing.FS2004 appears to be setting something on the transparent texture files incorrectly. Or am I missing something??TIA:
