May 23, 200422 yr I want to put some hedgrows around my airfield. I have tried EOD with some nova tectures but I am not very pleased with the results. Has anyone out there got any ideas or suggestions as to the best way of creating these. I did consider Gmax to try and give them a more fuller shape.Any help gratefully appreciatedCheersPaul
May 24, 200422 yr If you use FSSC, you can create a "line" that will display a row of macro trees. If you have relatively flat ground, you might consider creating a line of trees using a 3d box textured with a row of trees drawn using a transparent texture - so you can see between the trees. You will have to add some angled planes with trees drawn on them to add "depth" and something on top, for the top-down views. (In fs2004 the autogen trees are two vertical flat planes at 90 degrees from each other.)I tried this technique to create some "forests". Since you can only see the outside trees in a forest, there is no need to draw a full 3d view of all the trees - only a side view of the outside trees and a top down view of the rest. I found I had to add the angled planes, or it looked like a box with trees drawn on it.I was still not happy with my square forests, but a hedgerow may work better since it is naturally in a straight line.Just a thought.Phil
May 26, 200422 yr I thought about trying Gmax to create this, did the box thing first, but looks a bit odd. Then tried to create a box with a rounded top, hmmm.. not good as most of the textures available are built for flat squares. Still working on this. It would be really good to get it to work as the whole Airfield is surrounded by fields and a hedgerow:-hmmm
