May 8, 200224 yr I finally got around to networking my old computer to my new one. I installed FSWide on both and with a little tinkering, finally got a connection. The hassle seemed to be because the new system is XP and the old one is Win98. I'm using the IXP protocol and the only change I really had to make was to specify the server address in the ini file. In any case, all seemed well and I started up FSMeteo on the old system. It works fine for awhile but after about 10 minutes the new system running FS2K2 freezes solidly and emits a sound like a stuck car horn (albeit at a lower volume). The freeze seems to correspond to FSMeteo downloading weather. I'm using the latest verion of FSUIPC. Any thoughts? Thanks!David
May 8, 200224 yr I have always had FSMeteo locking Win2000 when it tries to download weather after about 30mins or so. As a result I don't use it anymore, I use RWX5.21 (freeware) which gives similar results and seems much more stable. The problem definately has to do with the modem dial-out, but this could be a driver issue (there are no later drivers available for my modem) or some issue with RAS on Win2000.Still, no problems with RWX5.21...Chris Ehttp://website.lineone.net/~flightsimukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)
May 8, 200224 yr I use FSMeteo thru wide FS all the time with no problem. Both systems are running TCP/IP on WINXP Home.
