April 4, 200521 yr Is it possible for special scenery objects to act as a trigger to play a sound in FS9?If so, could a plug-in be created to play the sounds of AI aircraft landing and taking off? These 'objects' could be rendered invisible and placed anywhere on the runway or, perhaps, at a certain AI spotting location. I believe MS Train Simulator uses this method to play various sounds - eg - birds, cars, running water etc. Perhaps certain 'flags' in the aircraft.cfg file could trigger certain engine sounds - eg, piston, turbine, jet. I am an absolute AI fanatic - so this idea appeals to me - alas - I don't have the skills to create it myself. I know about FSHotSeat - but I like the idea of user placed triggers. Anyway, just a thought!! Hope this stirs some skilled technicians!!!!CheersJont
April 6, 200521 yr That's a good idea, Jont.I'm working on this for some time now. I wasn't succesful yet, but you may want to take a look at the ai-reverser-fx I created. They're are only attached to the touchdown-fx. But that's still a beginning.Maybe you can create a trigger on a runway and tell it to play a wav when an aircraft passes by.I'll think about that.
