Fsregen raw beginner help

Featured Replies

i hope the answer to this is as daft as the problem might implie (ie i hope it's me being an idiot)when i attempt to open the exported asm file in Fsregen, i browse it to the file the path appears in the window..then i click "open"and Fsregen gives me an error message saying that the file cannot be found...this is because what ever name i have saved the asm file as from g-max export (keep files etc) it changes so if i try to open test.asmit says it cannot findtest_0.asmif i rename the file totest_0.asm it says it cannot findtest_0_0.asm and so on ad infinitum..real beginners stuff as usual but there it is..what is going on?

When you export from gMax, export to the fsregen directory. That should cure your problem.Lou

exported to the fsregen directoryhere's the list of the files created...still no _0.asmtest.xtest.asmtest.azmtest.bgltest.bintest.logthat's the lot is there anything i'm not doing that more experienced hands are taking for granted i know about..that's the usual problem with this sort of trouble?

What version of makemdl.exe are you using? The one that comes in the FS2002 MakeMDL_SDK, version 8.00.020403.01? If you are using the one that comes with the FS2002 gamepack, which is way out of date, then that is why you have an AZM file and no _0.ASM. You can get the FS2002 MakeMDL_SDK here:http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...wnloads_sdk.aspLou

many thanks --will check it out.
