I thought I heard something the other day about George Lucas's company releasing the software they'd developed for 3d modeling and animation to the general public. Has anyone heard anything about this and if so, what are the details? So far we're stuck in the confusing world of GMAX but it might be worthwhile seeing if this program is as good as I expect it to be and has the capability to export to a format that GMAX will understand.Art Martin

Well next time I'll do my research first before posting. Seems the open source donation from Lucas is not 3d modeling but an image format and associated sofware called OpenExr. That certainly doesn't fit the hype the news report had on it.Art
