Gmax Ground Scenery

Recommended Posts

Guest IdaBoy

I am sorta new to this whole thing, I know basically how to use gmax, how to create textures, and place them. I have a few questions about textures and shadows. 1. When I place a flat plane on the ground with and aerial image on them the texture never appears. I dont know if my plane is too large or what? 2. I have made custom ground markings, as in gate markings, and I have the lines surrounded by alpha so ONLY the lines appear in FS, it looks great unless the ground scenery have shadows is checked. Is there anyway to remove the shadows in gmax?? and if not, is there anyother way to do this so the shadows dont show?

You really need to head over to www.scenerydesign.org. They have some great tips on using the FS2002 gamepack to make proper working ground polygons. The FS2004 gamepack doesn't have the ability to do this well. This assumes that you have access to the FS2002 gamepack -- which means you'd need to own FS2002 Pro. If not, no doubt you can get some ideas from the SceneryDesign forums. One tip, although you won't need to apply it in this case if you have the FS2002 gamepack -- reducing the transparency of a texture to 99% will remove the shadow.Visit the Windowlight forum on Avsim... everything you need to know about New Zealand flightsim sceneryhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...forum=203&page=
