Google Earth photoreal as a source

Recommended Posts

Has anyone successfully assembled photoreal bitmaps over a couple of kilometers from Google Earth (Plus)?.....I cannot get sequential image captures to overlay correctly because of some kind of pincushion effects that I suspect Google uses to discourage this kind of large bitmap assembly. My area is in very high resolution and would make a great scenery.

My take is that this is due to a different projection system used by Google maps compared to MS FSX. You would have to reproject the imagery from Google. Cannot recommend any software though because I am no expert in this field.

I actually went as far as putting 4 placemarks at each corner for two adjoining screen images and overlapping the placemarks...the photos did not overlap perfectly BETWEEN the placemarks.
