A few beginner's questions....

Featured Replies

Recently I decided to use my 3d skills to improve my neighbourhood in FSX - I decided to start with some big buildings of my city. After few hours I managed to learn how to export simple model from 3dsmax7 to .X format, how to use xtomdl and compileBGL programs - but I still can't create object with textures that are visible in the game.I prepared a few in photoshop - for example 64x64 px ,BMP 24 format -I tried to put textures in the addon scenery (actually my own folder with scenery somewhere on the HD)-"texture" folder. Also tried to convert these BMP's into dds with mipmaps (effect: no building in the game at all)- so here are my few questions:1. Do I have to know something special about some obiect's names or properities (now I simply create building [one mesh], in file properities I add FriendlyName value, GUID value- no dummies, no object's properities)2.What is the simpliest way to add textures to appear in the game (format, size, tricks? )3.How to place object in the place I want (google earth coordinates?) :)4.And finally how to create scenery with more than one building - (put many files in the addon sceneryscenery folder?) I ask because when I look trough the addon sceneries created by other people - sometimes I can see textures in BMP for example but I can't open them in photoshop, sometimes scenery contains only bgl's)I will be most thankful (?) :) .Strat

I forgot to mention that my texture-problem looks like the whole building appears black in the game :)
