Well maybe this just proves I should stay at sea! :-newbieMy Monument Valley mesh is a mess! I need some guidance here and I was wondering if you could offer some advicethis is 7.5 min 10 meter mesh that I downloaded from the USGS sitehttp://edcnts14.cr.usgs.gov/Website/store/viewer.htmand here is my inf[Destination]LOD = 11DestDir = "."DestBaseFileName = "monument"NorthLat = 37.2472222222200031SouthLat = 36.7522222222199986EastLong = -110.0044444443999936WestLong = -110.4977777777999961[source]Type = ElevS16MSBSourceDir = "e:terrain"SourceFile = "demimage.bil"CellType = S16MSBLat = 37.24722Lon = -110.49777NumofCellsPerLine = 1776NumofLines = 1782CellXdimensionDeg = 7.0382882882882882882882882882883e-5CellYdimensionDeg = 7.0145903479236812570145903479237e-5ScaleinMeters = 1.0and this is what I got..... it looks like the data points are all scrunched up towards the northwest leaving a big canyon?http://63.230.234.161/images/whoops1.jpghttp://63.230.234.161/images/whoops2.jpgCan anyone give me a clue what I did wrong?

These values:CellXdimensionDeg = 7.0382882882882882882882882882883e-5CellYdimensionDeg = 7.0145903479236812570145903479237e-5are wrong. Here's an adequate formula to compute them:CellYdimensionDeg = (NorthLat - SouthLat)/(NumofLines - 1 )CellXdimensionDeg = (EastLong - WestLong)/(NumofCellsPerLine - 1)The input DEM is, by the way, approximately 30 meter resolution, not 10.

Thank you Orlando. I am one of your biggest fans. I have the Phoenix and Tucson mesh installed and it really makes things look just like home.I will make the suggestions you pointed out and will report back.

Please make a test.Try to change this parameter in FS2002.cfgTERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21the number can be between 21 and 35start FS2002 and tell me the resuslts perhaps works much betterI have a suspicion and I need to comfirm.Thanks.Mariano [email protected]
