For beginning Mash: Can someboby tell me the advantage of grises or FST. I have tested a bit. FST seems to use a RGB Bitmap and grises works with grayscale 256 Bit.I had some problems to find exact Runway elevations.Some help please.Pit

HiUsing Grises50 and Microsoft SDK programs.Usually I make my airfields first by using Airport and Scenery Designer and then Grises50 &c to do the surrounding landscape.This way if you have a slight difference in elevation of surrounding scenery and airport elevation, it is easy to adjust the airport level using A&SD.I have a selection of .raw files for the Grises50 procedure that can be adjusted by the initial program of the SDK to give different levels, the area covered being governed by the LOD number used.I attach a picture of one of my standard .raw files together with the file used for Grises50.
