I wondered if anyone knew of a better way to make mesh from GPS maps?I have managed to sort them through Excel and Autocad to DXF, and from there to XYZ format.Then I tried Surfer 8 to make grayscale images, Grises50 and TMF2BGL to make the BGL.The biggest problem is to convert from XYZ to DEM or grayscale.Does anybody know of a cheaper and easier alternativ to Surfer 8?

Hello,Are the XYZ values in a grid in the XY plane? And all nodes in the grid appear in the file? If Yes, the conversion is extremely simple. If no, then you need to interpolate and the problem is much more complex.I would not try to make grayscale images as you can only represent 256 altitude values.Regards, Luis
