Searching tool

Hi,It's already a long time ago, but I remember me a tool for making langscapes. This tool consist of a drawing display where you could draw on a black area and the more you draw the whiter the image became. So you got a grayscale image. By rendering you could see the result as a 3D landscape.Can someone tell me in which program that was possible ?Greetz. Jos
