Need help with Gate Sizes

Recommended Posts

Guest

Need some advice here.I set up Concourse C at Cinci to except only regional jets (Comair) and gave each spot a radius of 75.90ft.I set up Concourse B to accept both 737's and MD80's. Gates were given a radius of 95.04ft for the 73's and 93.95ft for the MD80's.Here's the problem: The RJ's are parking at Concourse C as hoped. However, so are everyone of the 737's. None of the 737's are parking at Concourse B. The MD80's are at B as hoped.Does anyone know why the 737's are parking at C? What sizes should I use? In case anyone is wondering, I came up with the above sizes after referring to the below link:http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID13For example, the size recommended in the link for a 737 is 28.80m.I converted meters to feet by taking 28.80 X 1.1 and then multiplying that by 3 (feet). Any suggestions?

Depending on which 737's you are talking about, their wingspans are more than adequate to fit in the concourse C gates with the radius you specified. If you just want ERJ's to park there I would make the corresponding gates smaller. ERJ's wing span, I believe is about 65 feet or so. The parking radius for that should be at least 33 feet and probably no more than 45 feet or so to keep the 737's out.At least this is my understanding of how the radius and parking work.Hope this helps.
