Palm Beach Intl. Frame Rate Drop Twilight Zone

Featured Replies

I was told that a virtual "phenomenom" takes place if you try to land your aircraft at Florida's Palm Beach Intl. airport at night on Runway 9L. (Only happens when it's dark outside) Try it and see! Has anyone read anything about this ghostly and drastic frame rate drop problem and is there a fix? "Mike" from Ocala says this issue was written about somewhere but he can't recall where. Where is "Simon" when you need him the most? Thanks for any help.Joe

It only seems to happen within a certain radius of KPBI at night. You can get around it by turning your scenery complexity slider down to sparse when near the airport.Kurt

This is related to the taxiway and/or runway lights at KPBI. You can also create the problem if you set vis. during the day to 1NM or less. About the only way this can be fixed is if someone builds a new KPBI, excluding the old one, or reducing scenery settings (until the taxiway lights are gone) as someone else had mentioned.John, KPHX
