Project Opensky 767-300

I've been trying to get this guy to work for a couple of weeks now. I finally made a breakthrough last night while messing with the runway length and traffic pattern altitude. I lengthened the runway 2000 feet and lowered the TPA 100 feet.So I watch the 767 on approach and it seems to be aiming short of the runway, it begins it's flare and then looks like it's going to do a go-around, then upon crossing the real runway threshold it noses down, flares and lands hard, but in one piece. Before making the change, the plane would just do endless go arounds. So I'm curious as to what the ai planes actually use for glide slope information? That seems to be the problem I think. Also I'm wondering if adjusting the ILS height in the parameters in AFCAD will only affect the AI planes?Lastly, I should mention that I had to replace the air and cfg files with the 777's to even get this close to making the 767-300 work. Before the change the 67 would be on short final making it's initial call to the tower and take a nose dive into the ground.Anyone know why planes suddenly take a fatal nose dive on me?BTW, I'm doing my testing at Kahalui, HI with a 7000 foot runway.

Hi,I've also been try to play with the Polsky 767.I tried to 777 air file but at first didnt get any results.What I finally did was alter the contact points on the original 767.All that was altered with the parts for the landing gear as followspoint.0=1, 87.42, 0.00, -11.5, 1181.1, 0, 4.521, 90.0, 1.63, 2.5, 0.7235, 4.0, 4.0, 0, 0.0, 0.0point.1=1, -19.50, -12.00, -11.75, 1574.8, 1, 4.521, 0.0, 1.91, 2.5, 0.7470, 6.9, 6.9, 2, 0.0, 0.0point.2=1, -19.50, 12.00, -11.75, 1574.8, 2, 4.521, 0.0, 1.91, 2.5, 0.7470, 7.1, 7.1, 3, 0.0, 0.0 Rgds Ron

I cannot help you with the other issues, but can at least clear up the misconception regarding navaid info in the AFD files...The navaid information stored in the afd .bgl files is ONLY USED on the MAP VIEW and GPS.That's it. Nothing more. That information has nothing whatever to do with either AI a/c or user flyable a/c.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately adding those contact points to the default config didn't seem to help. Odd. I'm still struggling with this but I know I'll crack it soon.:)

What Airport Are you testing these Planes at?? I know Maui intl has trouble making Ai Planes land there just keep flying over even defualt planes! But they take-off ok! Try an Airport Like PHNL, or KLAX or Vegas to test landings of Ai planes! i use PHML Intl myself since that is my home Airport! But Try these Contact Point for a POSKY 767! Use the Default 777 Air File and CFG File and just paste these Contact points in the 777 CFG file! It should work because I use these Contact points with all my POSKY 767-300's 200's and 767-400's and they all land and Take-off great!! Let me know if they work for you! I performed some experiences with the posky 767 200.The bird just made short aproach and crash landed before geting to the airport.Ifigured that the aproach speed was incorret because it did not stalled just landed before the runaway, Than i ajusted the F up stall speed up to 160 and the full flaps to 120 and BINGO got it on the touch down zone but the plane just vanished at the touch point, then I ajusted the trashold VS to 1500 ft/min and that

I have my POSKY 767s working great. I don't think messing with the contact points will do anything to change the fde.My experiences were similar. The original POSKY fde caused planes to dive into the ground short of the runway on approach. The 777 fde didn't work.I then used a fde that I created a while ago for a version II POSKY paint kit and it worked great. This was based on a much modified default 777 fde as I recall - it was a while ago. It even works with the PAI 767 that I couldn't get to show up on arrivalWhenever I have fde problems with AI aircraft I always manage to get them working with modified default fdes. I've even got Concorde to show up after crossing the Atlantic in just under 4 hrs by making it like a modified 747.I think there's some value somewhere in the air file that we don't know about that's missing or been modified in the POSKY fde. As a result any AI fde based on the origianl POSKY will in my view not be optimal for AI.This is not a criticism of the POSKY fde for normal aircraft.
