Call for beta testers

Featured Replies

I'm getting ready to release a program, and would like to find some beta testers. The program does a fine job of mapping aircraft to flight plans properly using airline, aircraft type and livery information (WorldAI especially); of merging flight plans from multiple sources; AND: it gives all your aircraft a diagnostic check the likes of which I doubt you've seen before! Then it helps you fix problems found. At the product website:http://www.softtoyssoftware.com/ComponentAI/index.htmyou can download and try the demo (3 runs, and probably most systems can benefit from trying out the diagnostic), download and check out the documentation (from the support page), and then if you're interested, apply to participate in the betahttp://www.softtoyssoftware.com/ComponentAI/betaprogram.htm .Beta participation is limited and details are explained on the beta page. You have to follow the steps on the beta page to sign up.(I'm posting this on both the General forum and the TTools forum, because I think the CheckAI module may be of general interest, and the aircraft mapping would be of interest especially to users of TTools.)Thanks, and I hope to hear from some of you -- Dick Bixler

This is just what I've been looking for. Can't wait until you release it. I would go for the beta program, but I don't think that I'm smart enough to help you, I would probably do things wrong. Any way I

Thanks for the heads-up on that, Bill. I just made a change to the syntax of the links, and I think Netscape and the site will get along better now.db

Unfortunately, there's no difference. The linked URL: http://www.softtoyssoftware.com/ComponentA...esCompAI01.zipyields the following 404 message:+++++++++++++++++++++Not FoundThe requested URL /ComponentAI/Download_filesCompAI01.zip was not found on this server.Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. +++++++++++++++++++++The 'problem' is in the incorrect 'back slash' [] between _filesComp...It must be a 'forward slash' instead:_files/Comp...Apparently, MSIE doesn't care one way or another! So much for proper "Error Checking!" :)

Yep... just what I suspected... here is the HTLM source for the link as it is now _as_interpreted_by_Netscape_:...Download_filesCompAI01.zip">ComponentAI distribution package......ComponentAIsupport_filesComponentAIoperatingGuidePDF.zip...However, checking the source _as_seen_by_MSIE_, note that the links *are* properly formed:...Download_files/CompAI01.zip">ComponentAI distribution package......ComponentAIsupport_files/ComponentAIoperatingGuidePDF.zip...I note that you use:to generate your HTML. Unfortunately, I don't know a bloody thing about MS Word 9, so I'm at a dead end for suggestions! :(There are numerous references in the source code to XML, which I know is unsupported in Netscape v4.xx, and just barely tolerated in Netscape 6.x :)

I hope my netscape only was not able to download the background, otherwise, hard to read yellow on white (this happen on the download pag). All other problems mention before don't happen to me.Ralf
