TTools 1.3 Beta Test - now posted

Featured Replies

I have posted TTools V1.3 for beta testing. It can be found by searching for TTools13.zip in the file library.Anyone is welcome to beta test the program. Here are the changes for this version:Fixed arrival times:The compiler normally calculates the arrival times for flight plans for you, based on the cruise speed of the aircraft, but you can now also specify fixed arrival times. In that case the compiler will arrange for the aircraft to arrive at the specified time regardless of the given cruise speed.Comments in files:You can now insert comments in any of the three source files. Comments can begin with either a semicolon ( ; ) or a double slash ( // ). Comment lines can be inserted between data lines or can be placed at the end of data lines.Automatic arrival time insertion in the FlightPlans.txt file:When you compile the source files, the compiler will automatically insert the calculated arrival times into the arrival time fields in the FlightPlans.txt file. This means that you no longer have to de-compile the traffic file to determine the arrival times.Faster compiling:The compiler and decompiler have been restructured to reduce the compile and decompile times.Compiler freezing:A problem that caused the compiler to occasionally freeze or crash with a system error has been fixed.Public domain source code:For developers of high level traffic applications or front end programs for TTools, the complete source code for TrafficTools (in C), with annotation and description of the traffic file format, will be posted and put into the public domain (at the end of the beta test period). Developers can incorporate any or all of the code into their projects, freeware or commercial, with no permission required and no credits or royalties required.

Hm...I can't find it...

The most popular and useful download for FS2002 and it is free and the source code will be open to public domain. THANK YOU very much for taking the lead in release to public domain a completely open system.Too bad more of the aircraft model developers and painters do not follow your excellent example of sharing an open system without all the concern about copyright. Yes, some have and we say thank you to them also.Bob

Thank you Lee for all your great tools and doing it for free. :-)

Thanks Lee!A quick run thru confirms all new additions work without a hitch.Comments line most welcome.Arrival time a novel but much appreciated addition.Thought the occasional 'freeze' was me - now I am pleased it was not !!Cool use of the arrival time insertion - no more 'accidental' decompilations now destroying the original source files ;-))Great work - can't think of anything else to do at your level other than maybe a sequential 'sort' of aircraft by their numbers in the .TXT file?Peter Leadbeater,Air Pierre, Warrington, UK.

Thank you Lee for the opportunity to test!Julian
