AFCAD and AI traffic at NZWK

Recommended Posts

I have attached the AFCAD file I created in case some helpful person will have a look and tell me whats wrong.I have created an AFCAD file for my hometown airport NZWK. I have added ATIS, TOWER, and GROUND frequencies. I have added the new data to FS2002 in the usual manner.I have created several flightplans from NZWK to other major airports that I know have atc running. The AI flights show up in sim but dissapear before departure. Inbound flights terminate about 20 miles out. I can see them coming with AI viewer for fs2002 and can go to chase view on them. All appears fine then they just dissapear.I have tried going through all the tutorials I can find and troubleshooting it that way but everything looks ok????Flightplans are: AC#7,ZK-CRC,100%,2Hr,IFR,01:00:00,01:26:25,065,R,1504,NZTG,02:30:00,02:56:25,065,R,1889,NZWKAC#47,ZK-JEN,99%,2Hr,IFR,01:09:59,01:49:37,150,R,3040,NZAA,03:30:00,02:09:37,160,R,8572,NZWKAC#21,VH-VIS,99%,2Hr,IFR,00:00:00,00:24:22,060,R,1784,NZRO,01:30:00,01:54:22,065,R,7222,NZWKAC#25,ZK-HAY,99%,2Hr,IFR,00:30:00,01:13:46,133,R,7687,NZHN,03:00:00,03:43:46,137,R,6063,NZWKCan someone please help. I am pulling my hair out and my scalp is sad. RegardsCarl Cutler

You don't specify what aircraft you're using, but my guess is everything is either a GA small or GA medium from the parking areas in the AFCAD file. The AFCAD looks OK as far as it goes, but I can see 2 possible sources of conflict. First, you've only got 3 parking areas, 2 smalls and a medium. If any of your aircraft are larger that that, they will not work at all. Also, remember that the program will "reserve" a parking slot for your own aircraft, taking another one out of circulation. You can test this quickly by just adding 3 or 4 big parking areas (like Gate Heavy, so you will know you're OK) and connecting them up. No need to match the scenery, even, just park 'em on the grass somewhere. If the planes in your flightplans are not standard ones, you should use AITM to check their radius settings. Most likely this is not a problem, but I've found 1 or 2 that have immense (and wrong) settings which were too large even for a Gate Heavy. There are a couple of other recent threads about using runways as taxiways. Since your AFCAD only connects to the runway at the center, there may be some conflicts between landing flights and takeoff taxis. Just for a test, try a grass taxiway connecting to the ends of the runway.
