January 14, 200323 yr I was reading the AFCAD manual Sunday afternoon, and realized that it's much more powerful than the mere "adding gates for AI" stuff we usually use it for.Specifically, for those of us interested in some bush flying, AFCAD can designate a runway ANYWHERE, and have it show up in GPS & the Choose Airport screens! So just pick your favourite forest clearing or stretch of beach, and run it through AFCAD. No flattens, smoothing or other scenery work required, unless you have to move some trees out of the way first.Because AFCAD can also designate Start Positions at any altitude, you can even have a runway that follows the natural slope of 2k2's mesh, with proper start positions at each end. Or move the start positions ANYWHERE - they do have to be associated with a runway, but they needn't be ON that runway! For further info, check this thread I started on the Scenery Forum: http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID10/1763.htmlOr download my "HmSc04.zip" & "HmSc03.zip" from the AFCAD Files section here at Avsim for another set of examples. http://library.avsim.com/search.php?Search...=Root&Go=SearchJust working to liberate AFCAD from the tyranny of Boeings and Airbusses!Brian.
January 14, 200323 yr The tyranny of Boeings and Airbusses? Why not go all the way and use AFCAD to eliminate the tyranny of WHEELS?Although FS2002 already has float plane airports on lakes around the world, I don't know of any of these that provide parking or taxiways. You can do this, and add AI floatplanes as well.
