August 13, 200421 yr Hi,I am using AFCAD 1.4 with FS2002. Have created overlays for O'Hare (KORD, 2ORD, 3ORD, 4ORD). However, I try to create an IFR flightplan to one of the overlays (i.e. not KORD). When requesting clearance to one of the overlays, the airport is referred to by the ATC as 2ORD and not O'hare.Does anyone know if something in the AFCAD file controls this? Or if when you use overlays you should use EditVoicePack and create new callsigns for the overlay codes?thanks
August 27, 200421 yr It's the VoicePack that needs to be updated. I believe the EditVoicePack documentation says it will look through your Airports.txt file and find matches, and then provide appropriate files for this. In theory, it does this if the positions given in Airports.txt (which do NOT have to be terribly accurate) exactly match the main overlay, i.e., KORD. You must, of course, have slightly different positions for AFCAD in the overlays.I can't verify that this works, though. I'm still using FS2002, but I'm using the RAFCAD system that the PAI folks worked out. FS2004 uses gate specifications for this, but the PAI radius stuff worked very well for me, and I didn't need to use overlays for more than a handful of airports.
August 28, 200421 yr Havent done this, but I just wondered if KORD2 or KOR2 may work...If you try it, and it does, please let us know..
