aircraft disappears on departure

Featured Replies

Hello GentlemenMaybe you could help me with a little problem.I built a fictious airport with afcad 2.21 for fs 2004. The fault finder tool says it is OK. I made a simple flight plan. I can see my planes arriving to my fictious airport and park ok. But the problem is when the flight should depart from my fictious airport the plane simply disappears.Any idea?I thank you very much for your forthcoming assistance.FriendlyChristian, Paris, France

I am fighting with the same phenomenon. I am having trouble having my AI float planes depart from a lake.I built an AFCAD file for the lake. I have taxi links, dock parking, starting points, the runway, traffic, tower and ground frequencies. I have checked the AFCAD file for errors and inconsistencies.I have AI float planes arriving at the "airport" and parking nicely. But I have not been able to make them depart from the lake. When it comes time for a plane to start its engine, it just rocks gently once and then disappears. The plane appears at the destination airport, though.Would anyone have any idea what I have overlooked? Thanks in advance.sasu

I solved my problem!I made the runway type Concrete in AFCAD.I had already made all taxiways Concrete, but had forgotten the runway.I specify runway and taxiway width to 1 ft so they are not visible. This tip is from Holger Sandmann's ai_float.zip.In case you missed it, the airport is on water, but the AFCAD runway and taxiway type is still Concrete.sasu

Hi SasuIt does not solve my problem because I don't want an invisible runway! The strangest is that the very same traffic file works fine with real fs airports and does not work in my fictious air baseThanks anyway for your concernHappy flightsChristian, Paris, France
