Sound quality .. speakers vs. headphones

Featured Replies

I've moved my flight sim setup into an extra bedroom (room to expand) and was wondering .....Im now using headphones for FlyII.My sound card has surroundsound capabilities. Is the sound quality in FlyII good enough that I would notice any sort ofsensoral improvement if I went from headphones to a nicethree-speaker setup?Anybody out there use speakers rather than headphones? Thanks in advanceJohnW

John, My setup is in our living room...hence.... I usually have to use head phones. But.........when ever I chance..... when wife and kids are gone........, I use my 3 piece Altec Lancing System with the sub woofer and treble and base adjust. Nothing like it...blows the use of headphones away...IMHO.

I agree 100% I never knew better speakers make such a huge difference. I used to have these tiny $5 speakers for my computer. I also used headphones somethimes...sound with the speakers and headphones was the same. Then I got a nice set of "Monsoon" speakers with sub-woofer and I was amazed at what a difference it made. I keep the sub-woofer under the table, and select the cessna, I put my feet up on it and I can feel the vibrations of the engine through my body.To make the long story short..Yes, nice speakers make a big difference.Take careMike
