Joystick Problem, Pleasssssse Help..........

Featured Replies

Greetings,I know this is somewhat off topic, but I'm desperate. I got a new Force Feedback II joystick and can't get it going. I have the original Force Feedback and have had no problems. I'm not trying to use both sticks at the same time. The original has the standard gameport connection, the new one has the USB connection. I've been to the Microsoft support site and read the articles that pertain to this issue. The USB ports are configured correctly according to their website. I've also tried several other things they recommended, but had no luck. For whatever reason, the PC won't recognize the joysticks existence, even though on startup it says "new hardware found" and lists the device by name. Does anyone out ther have any suggestions what this may be and how to resolve it? I apologize for bringing this here, but like I said, I'm desperate.Thank You,Hans [email protected]

I dont know what type mother board that you have. But on mine you have to go into bios and enable the USB ports from there , before they can be used. Check to see if they are enabled or not.TonyWhy Oh .... Hi Tony,I read that and went into the Bios and enabled the USB support, it was disabled. Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. I also noticed several other things you can change. One is the "allocate IRQ to USB" and that was set at "yes". The other one was one I didn't know nothing about, it said "memory hole" and it was disabled. You could change it for three different ranges of memory. You know what this is for? Thanks for any help you can provide. Hans

Need to start by knowing by who makes your MB? TonyWhy Oh .... Why cant I ????FlyII! ver. 2.30Directx 8.1nVidia drivers 28.32ECS K7S5A SOCKETA /DDR/ AUDIO/ATX MB, DDR 128MB PC-2100 266MHZ MEMORY ,AMD ATHLON T-BIRD 1.2GHZ 256K FSB266 PGA , NVIDIA GEFORCE2 MX-400 64MB 4X-AGP

Tony,According to the PC, the motherboard is made by TriGem Computer Inc. The model is Napoli, version 1.0. The PC is a E-machines 500 MHZ with 256 RAM and a ATI 64MB Radeon DDR card. Thanks.Hans
