May 20, 200224 yr Hi, I have made a repaint of a Posky A330-300. And after I convent the base paint with Imagetool i lose the alpha channel. How do I keep the alpha channel?John.R
May 20, 200224 yr Use DXTBmp, it is easier to use, you can send bitmap and alpha channel separately to editor. You find it here DXTBmp
May 20, 200224 yr Could you please explain how it works. I tried to get the alpha channel but no luck.
May 20, 200224 yr Open original texture which have alpha-channel, then select -Image -Send to editor. There copy your bitmap over original bitmap and save.Back to DXTBmp and select -Image -reload after edit. Then -File -Save extended bitmap, save it precisely same name in DXT3 with Alpha format. And remember to keep your own bitmap save, because DXT-format is compressed, if you edit original bitmap for several times directly it will look like a crab because every time you save, it will be compressed again. Always make changes to your own bitmap and then copy it over the original.
May 20, 200224 yr I'd like to try out DXTbmp - but every time I go to install I get an error message saying I am running the wrong version of Windows. I am running XP. Any thoughts?TaRob

Any thoughts? >>Ta >>Rob Make sure you download all the DLL's from Martins Site (where you got DXTbmp) and install them. Also do not use Image tool for converting Bmps to DXT as its compression quality is very poor, you will get much higher uality from Mr. Wrights DXT program.Paul
