PMDG planes and processor

Featured Replies

I was just wondering how processor-intense those planes are. I'm running a PII 400 and is relatively happy with my framerates (staying out of crowded areas of course), getting a 10-20 fps flying the 172.Would these planes run at an acceptable rate on my computer, or should I wait until I upgrade?John IvanENHD

John,I'm going to agree. I was a Fly! II beta tester using a PII/350...major headache at 8-10 fps.Now running a P4/1.6Ghz with a 64Mb GeForce card, and I regularly get 80 fps...and once while checking out some of Jim Donlin's scenery in a 172, I got 100 fps. The 757 doesn't seem to give me any frame rate hits, but it certainly does have more processor-hog type features, along with a known memory leak that causes lock ups when you fly an ILS approach. (It's probably not a PMDG-induced memory leak, but a Fly!II problem...Lefteris wrote about it in one of his posts a few weeks ago.)
