Fix the quirky 'REverse' throttle

Recommended Posts

Guest tonyc

I just discovered that in the FLY2 main folder resides a "control.txt" file that will wnable you to tweak the joystick controls, in particular the throttle( Z axis) so that the "0 throttle" is easier to attain. In doing so, engaging the "reverse" mode is easier: you don't have to shove the throttle against the stop trying to get the perfect 0 before the reverse will engage. Just change the "null zone" number from .050000 to .100000 and it will do the trick for you. I have not played with the other settings, but this clearly made my day.tony

Is there not a way to make the rudders less sensitive in this same file?

Maybe I'm not using the yoke as should be.Cesar/Venezuela

I hope I understand your question. In FLy, in order to reverse the throttle, you reduce the throttle to 0 then hit the key "R" and the throttle automatically engages in reverse. Now when you push forward on the throttle, you're increasing the "reverse throttle rpm". As for shutting down one engine, you cannot do that with the yoke simply because it has only three axis, x,y,z. you may want to look at the key assignements and see whether the engines have individual commands.tony

Since the yoke has only one axis for throttle assigned, I used the "right-click drag" approach to stop or fail one engine.
