Rendering of buildings on approach

Featured Replies

Greetings,Can anyone tell me if there is a way to let Fly! II know from what distance to start rendering buildings at an airport when one starts an approach. Personally I'd like to see the buildings in the distance when I'm about 4 miles out.Are the following two lines in the fly.ini related to my question, and if so what changes do I need to make?popBuildingsIntoView=0popBuildingsTolerance=20An answer would be much appreciated.Cheers,

Danny:I'm pretty sure that the popBuildingsTolerance determines when the building will pop up. The value means how many pixels high it must represent on the screen before it pops up. If you change it to a lower setting you should obtain the results you're looking for.Let me know if it worked.Alejandro AmigorenaCheshire, CTFly! Alejandro,Thanks for the reply. I will try it as soon as I get back home and will let you know.Cheers,

Danny,You should find the following line in fly.ini:distanceHidingRadius=2This line means that any scenery models that have distance hiding turned on will disappear when you are about 2 miles away. Setting this to 4 miles should do what you want.I believe what Alejandro said is also true. If you have some small buildings you may also need to lower the tolerance setting.nick

Thanks to both of you. It worked. The distanceHidingRadius did the trick.Cheers,
