April 13, 200323 yr I spent the afternoon this past Sunday at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Long Island. It is located on the former Mitchell Field (place where Lindbergh took off on his flight to Paris). They had a full-size Convair 340 cockpit and I thought you'd all enjoy some photos. Here is a link to an exterior photo] from Airliners.net so you see what the plane is. The attached pix are what I took this past Sunday -- note the professional pilot demonstrating the controls in the last picture :-)This would be a really nice bird to create for Fly!2: Twin prop passenger plane from the 50's. With these photos of the cockpit (which I would be happy to share with an aircraft designer -- they are taken with 4.0 megapixels. Full size of each is approx 1.2MB) and lots of excellent exterior shots on Airliners.net, someone with strong aircraft design skills could probably do some wonderful modeling. I'm sure we can find flight dynamics somewhere on the Web.Anyway... enjoy.-DK----David KohlFly!
