April 12, 200323 yr I recently reinstalled FlyII with the latest patch and started loving the experience all over again. For some reason I am getting much better framerates (must have been the render.ini tweaks) and it is smooth. One question I have with superquickgen 2.0 is that it really bogs my system down. If I turn it off, everything runs beautifully again. I have downloaded some Terramodel airports, most of which have a ton of buildings and trees, and I don't see much of a performance hit. I am wondering what I am missing? Is there a way to reduce the object polygon count in quickgen or is there a switch or something else I am missing. Robert Williamson

In part this could also be because Richard compiled the final version of the Fly II EXE with a later rev of the Microsoft C++ compiler than what the earlier releases were compiled with (i.e., possibly benefiting from some improved optimizations contributed by the compiler itself). As I recall, a number of beta testers noted performance improvements during the testing of the final patch.

http://www.usinternet.com/users/mystic/infomsig.gifGodspeed to our friend, Richard Harvey.

April 12, 200323 yr One "option" is to use scengen - which was the version of autogen I wrote. You can then edit/create the scenery which is generated and make it as sparse or crowded as you want.Just a suggestion ;-)
Ken Salter (aka SaltyDog)
MSFS & Fly!
