Well, I've never "captained" a plane that was anywhere near large enough to need a pushback (usually just release breaks and pull 'em myself), but here's how I've heard it done...After getting cleared by clearance delivery, and all your passengers are settled:1a) contact ground and inform them that you are ready for pushback and engine startup1b) ground tells you when you are clear for push and when you may startup engines (usually cleared to start during the pushback, but sometimes not)2a) contact your ground crew on the intercom once cleared to begin pushback (and engine startup depending on what Ground told you)2b) ground crew will inform you when towbar/steering pin is released and they are clear of the aircraft3) If engines running, contact ground and inform them you are ready to taxi. If you were not given permission to startup engines during pushback, you would follow instructions given for delayed engine startup. (again, this almost never happens, but depending on ground traffic, it may)Hope this clears things upCheers,---John R. SippyChicago, IL, USAPowerMacG4 -Dual 5001024MB RAMnVidiaGF2 - 32MB
