New Video Card XP and OS/2

Can anyone suggest a AGP 128 MB card that will work with XP AND OS/2?There are alot of cards that SciTech Display Dr works with in OS/2Currently running xp, w98 os/2 all on a P3 256 with a Matrox G100 16mb cardAlso looking for links for progressive updates to Fly2.Any help greatly appreciatedChas51

I have XP Home edition and a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 from Gainward. It has been prety stable since day 1. I just downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers and still stable and with good performance.My mobo has the VIA chip, it is a Pentium III 1 Ghz and works fine with the T14200 128MB video card.I have no idea how it works with the OS/2 though..

Chas51,I guess it would have to depend on what you want the cards for. In OS/2 the Sytec Display Doctor is nearly the only thing available now. Then there are IBM's GRADD Drivers, and a few companies that might program new drivers for the latest cards.But if you want cutting edge graphics for Flight Simulation and other Computer Gaming, you are out of luck asking for drivers that are supported on both XP and OS/2, esp. if you want to use cards like the ATI 9800 or nVidia 5900. These are both in the realm of the 'AGP 128' cards you appear to be looking for. You might also to check out reviews from VOICE and OS/2 E-zine, and compare them to what is written on video cards at PC (Windows, Linux, oriented) sites like Tom's Hardware Guide. Also, eCom Station (the latest incarnation of IBM's OS/2 Warp OS) may also have developers running some of the latest cards, so check into this as well. Just use a search engine like Google or AltaVista, and look for "OS/2 Warp Display Drivers", or "eCS eCommStation Display Drivers". What you get back should allow you to see what is available.Other than this, you are pretty much going to have to move to two separate machines. Thats kind of what I did some time ago. I upgraded from a Matrox G400 (32MB) to an nVidia GeForce3 Ti 200 (64MB). I gave my wife the Matrox and wasn't able to find the kind of suppport for the Ti 200 under OS/2 Warp that I wanted. OS/2 has sat idle (in VGA mode) since, although it is still installed on the hard drive.I tried Sytec's Display Dr a couple of times under the 'free trial' period, and it allowed me to have decent resolution (i.e. 1024x768x32) but after it expired I had problems booting into the desktop altogether. I never did do any 'gaming' or Flight Simulation on OS/2, but I have found some applications under Linux.Finally, you can check the news groups and see if they have any news with regard to your question. I can't remember the exact newsgroups, but they start with 'comp.os.'. I think they were something like 'comp.os.os2.advocacy', etc.Good luck, I hope this helps.T. Carlyle
