FLY design notes by TRI.....the book.!

Featured Replies

It's incredible. Since most of my "development" has been on FLY2, I had not bothered much to go through some of the material, especially "how to" stuff , in the FLY! development section. Well, the download of the "FLY design notes" translates into over 100 pages of how to essentially design a plane, including all the systems. With this, anyone can slowly understand how these planes are put together. May I suggest that we take this great file and place into 1. FLYdevelopers and 2. in the FLY2 section. I think many potential developers don't look beyond FLY2. This would be unfortunate. Get it. It's a great book for those of you who fantasize about being designers...tony

No, Jeff. You can find these in the FLY Development sections under flydocs.zip by Paul Russel. This is it for your site!tony

Wow Tony , Did you ever get a rare find. This is awesomewe may have to get the users that come to this web site to register to keep this secret, Who knows what M$ is up to and would they be able to take over this kind of code ??The only problem I have is getting the pages to link togetherI will figure it out somehow. Now the second problem I have to find the Paul Russell to get permission to post his document on the web siteHave any idea Where he is or his avsim nickname ?Jeff http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewja.jpg

Paul Russell was one of the TRI FLY designers. I am not an expert on this, but I suspect that such a document is for the public. Afterall, your site is a FLY site. I would still upload the file to AVsim as a FLY2 file, or ask the AVsim librarian to change locations...tony

Thanks for the tip.Tony ..I might need your help in looking at the site.My eyes are going crosseyedRight Now I am in deep up to my eyeballs with Linking all of the pages together, Man I am about half way done & I feel like i have been doing this forever, But the Links are working in front pageAlso right now they do not work becuase I have`nt uploaded them to the server yet, I will let you know when I upload ithttp://www.flyiideveloper.com/thanks Jeffhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewja.jpg

You are in trouble buddy! TRI has not showed up here since Rich took off. I don't think Paul or any of the TRI guys will ever answer to your requests.Go ahead and upload the file, they don't have any interest on FLY anymore.Good luck!

Very, very good, Jeff. One suggestion, totally unrelated to the doc.How about adding some of our names( and e-mails) for specific advice. For example,I know a little about panel editing and painting. I'd be happy to have my name and "knowledge" listed on your site for someone who has questions.... let me know. tony

I am trying to get the links to work as I am typeing thisBut something wierd is happening every time you click a link it opens a download dialogue, Although the links are not that big Jeff http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewja.jpg
