A SquawkBox Question

Recommended Posts

Guest Eagle

Tonight I took the Hawker out of Richmond for Charlotte Douglas. No problem as far as altitude was concerned. Didn't even get yelled at by the DC controller. My question is, why could I not see the other aircraft flying? There were a number of planes in the DC area but none showed up on my screen. I know that I have seen them before. Perhaps I do not have an updated dll.

Wayne, yous should first install the SquawkBox 3.1 pack and then update it with the the 3.11 DLL update (Avsim lib). After that, please read the documentation regarding the aircraft required in your Fly! hangar to display other aircraft livery. Then make sure that in the SquawkBox "multiplayer" menu, you select for example 40 NM of visibility.I'm currently working on a new version with a real AI library (with automatic management of external lighting and gear up/down - Thanks to Alejandro Amigorena !) and more new functions as a fast independant multiplayer system based on a peer to peer technology which is called POTW (Patrol Over The World ;-)) for Fly! patrol. This system is available as a stand alone, or can be used at the same time of Ivao/Vatsim networking. The 3 vectors refresh period will be around 200 ms for all AI, instead of actual 5 seconds for Ivao/Vatsim network.Stay tuned !- roland -* ROTW member *

Roland, you are the BEST!! Will your program have the capability of downloading real world weather while flying? I know that this may be too much to ask, but I just had to.

It's already done in the next version as a stand alone function (no POTW or Ivao/Vatsim com), but you have it in the 3.11 actual version when connected to Vatsim/Ivao.Cheers- roland -* ROTW member *

Yes, Roland, I use it whenever I am on VATSIM. It would be nice to have it when using C4TO and it sounds as thought that will be possible with your next program. Thanks!!!

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!WOW!!! Real world weather with updates for FLY 2??? COOL!!! There goes almost my last use for MSFS9! Actually it's already deleted, due to poor partition planning I don't have a drive big enough for FS9 after installing your DVD. Something I've been thinking about: Would it be possible to create some type of flight verification for route, altitude and use of distance compression such as flight analysis? That way we could have races like MS users do, maybe even challenge them. Just a thought.Best regards, Donny:-wave
