Wiki site intermittently down for a while

Featured Replies

As you've probably noticed if you've tried to access the site for a while, the Wiki server availability hasn't been very good lately. There are a number of factors at play, so all I can say is that access will be intermittent over most of the summer. I will try to find a more stable hosting arrangement in the fall. The problem is that the server uptime is dependent on a lot of different things, any one of which can result in loss of access. The main problem lately has been power glitches due to thunderstorms, and the fact that I've often been away from home and therefore unable to reset the machine when it does go down.Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks to all who have contributed so far. Feel free to send me any prepared info by e-mail and I'll be happy to add it to the repository.Chris WallaceOttawa, Canada

Hi Chris, after I have written you I have still had problems of connection. I have thought that the problem was in my computer.I hope really that you succeed in resolving this drawback. All the bestDan

Dan,It actually was up (or at least it seemed to be) for a couple of days last week, then there was another power bump last weekend when I was out of town (again). Everything in the repository is still intact, and I do use the server for other things so it will be up from time to time (during the week is more likely than on weekends).Chris WallaceOttawa, Canada
