Betatester wanted

Hi allI wrote a small program "NOCRASH" which analyses BGL-Files and removes the crashcode and corrects the "No texture"-flag. Now you can use this files with FSIMP. This tool only works with the old BGL-Format (but there are still a lot of FS2004-sceneries made with the old MAKEMDL-Tool - even GMAX-created - and my program gives a warning if the File is in the new BGL-Format)I tested it with the FS2002 Vienna-scenery from Johannes Loy, available at AVSIM (look at added screenshots).Does anybody want to give it a try ? Let me know in this forum.I also wrote a program to convert new FS2004-BGL-files to the old Format, so you can use them in FS2002 or older and therefor convert them wirh FSIMP. The converted BGL-files work perfect in the older MSFS-Versions, but I still have some problems using this files with FSIMP. If I can solve this problems, I will also make this program available.Harald

Hi allyou can find the beta-version in the attachment. To use the Program you have to open a CMD-Window. At the commandprompt type: c: NOCRASH infile.BGLwith infile.BGL being your BGL-File.If you start the Program with c:NOCRASH infile.BGL d the program additionally shows every processed BGL-command in the commandwindow. The converted BGL-File is stored in infileFLY.BGL whith infile.BGL being your BGL-File.If you see the Lines!!! Byte xxx removing crashcode !! or!!! Byte xxx correcting SET_MATERIAL !!!in your commandpromt-window my program has found some BGL-Code that FSIMP cannot handle. In this case replace this file in the FS2xxx.....scenery-directory with the converted one before using FSIMP.If the BGL has a wrong format you get the message:New BGL formattype, use BGLCONV orsorry, wrong BGL formattype. The program BGLCONV is not available jet.Harald

Guest Fly II Pilot

Harald,Those pics look really nice!I recently had to make some room in my HD so I ended up deleting all my FS2000 stuff... :-(This might be a good excuse to restore it...The tool you describe sounds great! Hope you can fix the problems...Thanks for all your work!Alexhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg
