March 14, 200224 yr I know....this is a Fly! Forum, but in the old days, F/A-18 got me hot on sims. I'm up to 3.0 and the Korea 1 version. Found a recently released update in beta on www.versiontracker.com that adds better texturing and volumetric clouds at low to medium altitudes. What I've enjoyed is the improved external views and the more realistic behavoir of wounded planes. Give 'em a good whack and they go into a flat spin. Off course, the same thing happens if the bad guys whack you!Being beta, there are still a few minor bugs, but it looks like a decent improvement.
March 15, 200224 yr I just got the boxed version of Korea Gold about a week ago. This is a huge step up from my old F/A-18 2.0! The new OpenGL graphics are amazing (comparable to Falcon 4.0..maybe even a little better). If enough people get this sim, we could have battles online. }> If you have not seen this sim, just take a few minutes out of your time and look at: http://graphsim.com/F/A-18 Hornet 3.1F/A-18 Korea Gold 1.2 iMac DV 400mhz384mb RAMATI Rage 128ProOS 9.2.2/10.1
March 25, 200224 yr Hi AllanI tried to apply the patch, but I get the message: "There isn't enough room on the disk HD2 to patch ...additional 2146734490 bytes needed".I have 10 GB free space on that hard disk. Can you explain what happens?Thank youMax
March 25, 200224 yr Max,Don't know what would trigger that message. I had only about 3GB available when I applied the patch and had no problems. Is you drive partitioned? If so, it may be trying to patch into a small partition. If Hornet Korea is currently in a small partition, you might reinstall the original program in a larger one and then apply the patch.Might check with Graphics Simulations ([email protected] -- I think). I've usually received helpful and prompt responses to e-mail inquiries.
