Installing drivers WIN XP

Featured Replies

Hi,Please tell me which is the way to uninstall and reinstall video drivers in WinXP, the detonator destroyer for WIN98 works in WIN XP????TIA

I know one thing, you have to go through the standard VGA step. That's where you replace the current with standard VGA, reboot, remove then you add the new driver.

I think the above wording might be a little misleading. First, turn "OFF" your Anti-virus Program. For some reason, it might consider your new drivers a a "Bug" and or it will just not load correctly.Next go to the "Control Panel" and click on the "Add/Remove" Programs. Look for your current Nvidia driver in the list and highlite it. Click Add/Remove and that should remove the drivers. I believe the computer will ask you if you want to reboot and click yes. Then it automaticaly finds the "Default" drivers in Win XP and loads them up (puts you back to that flickering 60Hz. Then load the new drivers as per the instruction that come with them. Most likely they will have an auto extraction and load themselves. Then all you need to do is to set the video settings to your liking. (right click on your desktop to pull up the "Display Properties (settings)".After everthing is set, do not forget to turn back on your "Anti-virus" program.Hope this helps.Terry
