EGLL: I'd like to POD it all, but how?

Recommended Posts

I've downloaded Preston N's EGLL TM scenery. I noted that the scenery is currently broken out into invididual directories with lots of files. Before I ask my question, I'm wondering - was that done so that Fly would load these models instead of the default airport contained in the "cities.pod" file? If that's the reason, Scott Cannizaro has figured out how to remove certain airports from Cities.pod (did it with LGA and DCA so far). Doing so would eliminate this problem, and thus allow EGLL to be placed in a single POD. With that in mind, I have the following questions:1 - How does one remove the default EGLL from Cities.pod?2 - How does one then take Preston's terrific work and (with his permission) create a single POD that contains everything? Doing so, by the way, should increase performance a bit as I understand that mounted PODs load faster than individual files across directories.I've read through much of this forum, but to be honest, am not sure which steps are required since to date, I've not used any of the avail tools create scenery other than TerraScene, which is all automated for US scenery.Thanks.-DK----Fly! Dave,To remove EGLL from the default cities.pod or cities_noNY_noDC.pod, whatever it is you must:1. unpod2. remove the appropriate scenery file, or edit out the EGLL data3. create and update the response file if there is a scenery file to be left out.4. repod5. delete the unpodded files. To create a pod for EGLL, 1. You must create a response file that contains a listing of all the files to be podded. This can be tedious if done from scratch, but there's ways to automate it a bit.2. Run FlyII's file manager and build the pod.I'll take a look later, maybe I could get it going for you.I'm still wrestling with the taxiway editor to clean up Logan.-----------------------Scott CannizzaroPPASEL-KTEB
