July 25, 200223 yr I'got some cds with satelite images and want to use them for scenery design for FLYII. The problem is, I can figure out the coordinates of the landscape i'm seeing on the images. is the only way to estimate the coordinates using a road map and comparing for examples roads and rivers????Thanks,Carsten
July 25, 200223 yr Hi Carsten, you could compare your images with the coordinates of terraserver images (if your scenery is in the US. worldwide coverage was flaky, last time I checked).--Norm
July 26, 200223 yr If outside the US you could 'build' some scenery using Terrascene 2.1 with ArcExplorer data. Just putting in the say, major roads, railways and cities possinly. You could put in a suitable 'background texture' depending on whether you want to just insert the satellite image into part of the overall TS Globetile. I would also use Colin's TerraShape program-if only for the fact that it allows you to insert the Fly! runways visually into the scenery therefore giving accuarate 'datum points'.It is worth reading his Terrashape tutorial if you are doing anything with ArcExplorer anyway.
