3DMAX EXPERTS, CAN YOU TELL ME

Featured Replies

How to remove the blue that seems to penetrate my engines? In 3d max everything looks good, I think.tony

Hi Tony,it probbably is a face that's flipped over. In editable mesh select this face and select "flip" that shoud fix it...

Hi Jarno. I am not sure if the problem is a flipped face. The engine nacelle has the "hole for the wheel" which goes right through, at least when you look at the model from the bottom. See pics.tony

Hi TonyI am no 3dMAX-expert, but for me it looks like you have to model the inside of Wheelwell. When you look from the backside anto a face, it simply does not show. In this case you have to modell the inner and outer shell.I had a similarpProblem when i modelled my hangars with Zmodeler. Now I modell the inner and the outer surface of the wall with faces showing in the opposit direction. Advantage: no "look through" and the walls have now correct "thickness".maybe this helpsHarald

Yep, Harald.Had the same problem myself. The upper nacelle skin needs a texture on both sides, top and bottom. If only textured from top, it will be a see-throgh viewed from bottom through the open gear doors.

I figured that. I looked into the "properties" of the "Editable poly" of the object and changed the "background cull". In 3d max the "hole" turns black. I will convert to FLY2 to see what the effect is. In this case I wanted a generic black instead of a "texture". But we will see. thanks for the great suggestions.tony
