A technique to have lit and dynamic scenery models

Recommended Posts

Guest laurentC

Hi all,Alex yet described here the way to add all sort of lights to scenery models (the firetruck ... remember ?), and we had recently the idea, with Dany, to have animated scenery objects (after having also developped scenery objects with sound). The idea was to port the dynamic parts technique used with airplanes to static objects ... and this is the result :http://rotw.simvol.org/beta/Project_dynami...ect_test_v0.zipThe test scenery is Djibouti airport, the animated (and lit thanks to Alex) object is the normal malibu (but you can have any 3D animated ACM or SMF object) and the key is Alt+F9 (you should see the flaps going in and out ...) : see the data/dp3d_AI_TRI_v100.txt file for details. The pod goes in the aircraft folder and the new dynamic parts dll (specific to static objects) in modules/pc. This technique shows that we can add dlls to the static objects AMP subsystems files as we usually do with airplanes and have all sort of animated and lit objects ! The data file is the one currently used with dynamic parts technique and the dll call is in the AMP file (DOBJ). The sole difference is that we here have to notify the actual name of the object ... Development could be objects that react according external events ...Cheers,laurentC (rotw)
