May 17, 200224 yr I've been flying FUII for a while. The Baron became my favourite aircraft. Switching to FUIII, the Windhawk looked much like it. Though, it flies a bit different:- Windhawk apparently has more power.- On the Windhawk stalling starts below 60 knots. Even with moderate stall warning, the plane can be landed. On the Baron you're dead when stalling.- Landing at vertical speeds exceeding 5000 ft/min (gauge indicating 5) damages your landing gear on the Baron. On the Windhawk this is no problem.- I think the Baron breaks appart more easily due to overstressing the aircraft.- The engine of the Windhawk responds faster to the throttleFUII's Baron is harder to fly. It is more challenging to land the Baron at small airports than landing the Windhawk. My questions: How is this in real life? Stated otherwise: which sim does simulate more accurately? What alternative plane that can be downloaded at AVSIM is more like the FUII Baron? I want my Baron back!!! ;-) Tom? Hennie?ByeJorgen
May 17, 200224 yr Jorgen,"What alternative plane that can be downloaded at AVSIM is more like the FUII Baron? I want my Baron back!!! Tom? Hennie?"I'm not qualified to answer that. I have a bias! :)
May 20, 200224 yr Hi Jorgen,I'm sure Daniel will sort this out for you. I've never flown a real Baron, so I cannot comment.Regards,Hennie
May 22, 200224 yr BTW, Daniel, how do you intend to proceed.I've been messing around with ResViewer 1.32 from Gideon Perzold and Plane Unlimited from Markus Brunner. I can view the F2 Baron with resviewer, exporting the flight model items. However Plane Unlimited does not convert the exported flight model items well. Only a very small text file is generated, without the BOXDATA and stuff.
June 8, 200223 yr Okay i have come to the conclusion that you are right i am afraid. When i extract the flight model from the FU2 Baron i end up with only the first 10% of the flight model.I think we need Markus Brunner
