Cure for the Haze Cloud Stutters

Featured Replies

I just upgraded my computer to P4 2.53 ghz w/DDR400 and I have a GFti4400 128meg card. FU3 runs like never before - just plain awesome. However, I always get the sam stuttery low frame rate when flying through hazy clouds in bad weather. I can't figure it out but the system slows down from 60+fps down to the teens in FPS. I had the same slow downs on my old slower Athlon 1.33ghz. Is there anything I can change in the settings to prevent the terrible frame rates when flying in bad weather clouds.I have no problems in other clouds and frame rates overall our excellent.knader

Try changing rain_max_particles and snow_max_particles in your flt3.cfg file. There are other parameters there which you could reduce to get higher framrates. Check some of the cloudmodel_ commands. If you are using my version of the file, then the max_particles will be in the thousands, but the default values are in the hundreds. Rob D.
